About the author

Judi Emanuel

Judi Emanuel is a Jamaican singer-songwriter and storyteller based in Vermont. Known to audiences as The Reggae Countess, she carries forward the musical legacy of her father, Count Owen, a pioneering mento musician and recipient of Jamaica’s Order of Distinction.

To family and friends she has always been Juds, a yard name, and that is where the name of her channel comes from. She wrote and performs the song for Mitzie’s Morning Adventures and narrates the animated film in Patois and English.
